Welcome to the Amulree Country Hotel and the new web site. The current building is now cared for by the Henderson family. Set in the heart of Scotland amidst beautiful yet rugged scenery, the Amulree Hotel is a historic and traditional Perthshire country hotel and Hunting Lodge. The Hotel is centrally located in Perthshire with easy access to all the major cities in Scotland. Amulree is a rural hamlet and is located within 10 miles from the towns of Aberfeldy, Crieff and Dunkeld. From earliest times men and cattle have moved down through the highland passes and glens to Amulree. The Amulree Inn became a King’s House when General Wade in 1730, pushed his military road north east to Dunkeld and the heartland of Celtic Scotland (A King’s House was a quality Inn strategically placed on a main highway where military officers, judiciary or nobleman could stop to eat, change horses and find accommodation. The Hotel thrived as it was not always easy to find accommodation in rural Perthshire in the 17th century)
The Hotel’s philosophy is based on the traditional values of welcoming the hungry and weary traveller or hunter with warm hospitality, good wholesome food and good quality bed and breakfast. The Amulree hotel is surrounded by the quiet and stunning beauty of Glen Quaiche with it’s wide variety of wildlife and rugged landscape. Our comfortable rooms provide accommodation set amid a tranquil and picturesque backdrop.
The Amulree Hotel is ideal for Walking holidays, Hunting Holidays and Fishing holidays. The Amulree Country Hotel and surrounding area is also a fantastic spot, well known for Birdwatching in Scotland. So whether you are a walker or walking the Rob Roy Way, a cyclist looking for a rest point, or just popping in for some good food or some live folk music. Rest assured you will always be met with a warm Henderson welcome!
The Amulree Hotel is closed over winter 2007-2008. Due to refurbishment the Amulree Hotel is expected to re-open autumn 2008. Please telephone 01350 725 218 for any further enquiries.
